A local-browser experiment
Turn your video into black and white knights on one giant chessboard. Fixed silhouettes. Real L-shaped jumps. An image made only by their positions.
Try it with your videoDecoding, knight movement, rendering, and MP4 encoding run locally in your browser. No uploads. No analytics. No cloud fallback.

Black and white knights.
One continuous board.
Result controls seek both videos. Use Zoom frame → 100% to inspect the knight silhouettes.

02 / The rules behind the image
Large, fixed black and white knight silhouettes sit on a fixed gray checkerboard. The source guides placement and movement, never the board colors or piece artwork.
A custom first arrangement sets the inventory. Each knight keeps its ID and color. It can jump to an empty cell once per frame, over other pieces. No captures or resets.
Either color can move next. There are no kings, checks, or alternating turns. Every move still follows the knight’s exact (2,1) or (1,2) L-shaped geometry.
Bold silhouettes and steady movement work best. A fixed inventory cannot match every brightness change. Fast cuts, fine text, and tiny details may not survive. Compare the full result, not just the first frame.
This page needs browser video decoding, Canvas, and WebCodecs H.264 encoding. Support depends on your browser and device. A current Chromium-based browser is a good place to start, but support is checked, not assumed. If encoding is unavailable, conversion stops with an explanation. Your video is never sent to a server as a fallback.
Your selected file, decoded frames, board states, and encoded result stay in local browser memory. The page loads its own code and knight images, but makes no upload requests and includes no analytics. Clear the file to release this page’s previews and downloads. Save the result first if you want to keep it.
